FiberSense advances professional-care strategy following CE marking

Intended use update and professional-care market entry targeted for H1 2027

BASEL, SWITZERLAND, August 28, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- FiberSense AG (“FiberSense”) today announced plans to expand the clinical application of its new Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System into selected professional healthcare settings.

Following CE marking for the FiberSense CGM System in June, the company is preparing a regulatory update to the System’s intended use to include selected hospital and professional healthcare settings. Completion of the planned regulatory activities is targeted for the first half of 2027.

“Building on our first regulated application, we are now working toward a regulatory update that could allow FiberSense’s optical sensing technology, long-wear sensor design and reusable electronic components to support workflows in hospitals and clinical care settings,” said Dr. Achim Mueller, Founder and CTO of FiberSense AG.

The FiberSense CGM System combines continuous glucose monitoring with a sensor and overtape designed for up to 28 days of use, together with a removable and rechargeable detector unit.

The planned move into professional care would support FiberSense’s broader medical strategy in settings where continuous glucose data, reduced handling burden and reusable components may be relevant.

The company’s underlying novel optical sensing technology also has the potential to move beyond CGM into continuous multi-analyte monitoring (CxM), with ketones, lactate and cortisol among the next targets under evaluation.
